Flight search is only the beginning

Finding flights that could work for your pet is an important step. But most pet travel issues happen after flights are booked — missing paperwork, incorrect timing windows, airline restrictions, transit country requirements. Paws Abroad helps you organize the entire journey so nothing critical gets missed.

See how Paws Abroad works — step by step.

From your pet's profile to a personalized Journey Guide, flight evaluation, and ongoing support.

Why Planning Matters

International pet travel has more steps than you think. That's exactly why we built this.

Every international route has its own set of airline restrictions, health certificate requirements, timing windows, and transit country regulations. Miss one step and your pet could be denied boarding — or worse, stuck in quarantine.

Most people don't realize how many moving parts are involved until they're already behind schedule.

Paws Abroad organizes the entire process for your specific route. From the first vet visit to arrival-day logistics, every step is mapped, timed, and tracked.

Whether you plan independently or with concierge support, you get a system designed for the complexity of real pet travel.

What Paws Abroad actually helps you do

  • Know which flights actually work for your pet
  • Track every document your route requires
  • Plan months of preparation step-by-step
  • Avoid airline and transit rule surprises
  • Organize vaccinations, paperwork, and deadlines
  • Prepare confidently for departure day
How It Works

Your path from confusionto confidence.

01

Step 1Your Pet Comes First

Everything starts with your pet — not generic advice

Before anything else, you create your pet's Pawsport — a digital profile that captures what actually affects travel: size, breed, behavior, vaccinations, microchip, special considerations, and route.

This allows Paws Abroad to:

  • Adjust guidance for dogs vs cats
  • Flag airline or breed restrictions early
  • Tailor crate sizing and travel requirements
  • Filter out flights that won't work for your pet

Most pet travel advice fails because it's generic. Your pet's details change everything.

02

Step 2Flight Marketplace

Find pet-friendly flights — filtered for your pet, not just your route

Most flight search tools ignore pet policies entirely. The Paws Abroad Flight Marketplace surfaces flights that actually accept pets on your route — with cabin vs cargo eligibility, airline restrictions, and a Pet Suitability Score to compare options safely.

The Flight Marketplace shows you:

  • Which airlines allow pets on your route
  • Cabin vs cargo eligibility
  • Transit countries with strict pet rules
  • A Pet Suitability Score to compare options safely
  • Whether multiple pets can travel together

Booking the wrong flight is one of the top reasons pet travel plans fall apart.

03

Step 3Your Personal Journey Guide

Your entire pet travel plan — clearly laid out, step by step

Once your Pawsport is complete, we generate a personalized Journey Guide for your exact route — literally named after your pet. This is where most people finally exhale.

Your Journey Guide:

  • Breaks a complex process into clear phases
  • Shows what matters now vs later
  • Lists required forms with official links
  • Flags risks before they become problems
  • Gives realistic cost expectations
  • Tracks progress so you're never guessing

No spreadsheets. No chaos. No wondering if you missed something critical.

04

Step 4Vetted Resources

Support doesn't stop once you land

Pet travel doesn't end at the airport. Inside Paws Abroad, you get access to resources that continue after arrival.

Inside Paws Abroad you get:

  • A map of vetted pet-friendly resources
  • Community-submitted recommendations from people who've done similar routes
  • Saved locations you can revisit while traveling

Most tools stop once you board the plane. Real support continues after arrival.

05

Step 5Ongoing Support

Because pet travel unfolds over months — not minutes

Rules change. Flights change. Timelines shift. Questions come up. That's why Paws Abroad is designed for the long haul — not just a one-time download.

Pet parents return:

  • Weekly during planning
  • Daily as travel approaches
  • After arrival to connect and find resources

And when things feel overwhelming, help is there — whether that's community support, a document check, or coordination help.

This is what most people didn't know they needed until they had it.

Community

You're not the only onedoing this.

Connect with other pet parents who've already navigated similar routes, ask questions, and share resources. Sometimes the most reassuring thing is knowing someone else has been there — and made it through.

FAQ

Common questions

Planning & Getting Started

How far in advance should I start planning?

We recommend starting at least 3–6 months before your travel date. Some routes require specific vaccine timelines, blood tests with mandatory waiting periods, or government endorsements that can’t be rushed. Starting early gives you time to handle all of this without stress.

Can I start with the DIY Travel Plan and upgrade later?

Yes. Many families start with the DIY Travel Plan and later add Guided or White-Glove Concierge support if their route becomes more complex or they want hands-on help. Your existing plan and Pawsport carry over.

What countries do you currently support?

Paws Abroad currently supports routes across 14 countries and growing. If your destination isn’t listed yet, reach out — we may still be able to help or can let you know when it’s added.

What if my route is complicated — multiple countries, a tight timeline, or multiple pets?

This is exactly what the Guided Concierge ($795 base) and White-Glove Concierge ($2,500+) tiers are designed for. Complex routes benefit from expert oversight to ensure nothing falls through the cracks. You can also start with a Route Review Call to get clarity before committing.

What Paws Abroad Does (and Doesn’t Do)

Does Paws Abroad handle vet appointments?

It depends on your plan. With the DIY Travel Plan, we tell you exactly which vet visits are needed, when to schedule them, and what to ask for — but you book them yourself. With the Guided Concierge, we help you stay on track with reminders and document reviews. With White-Glove, we coordinate directly with your vet on your behalf (vet consultation fee included).

Are you a pet shipper or airline?

No. Paws Abroad provides planning, guidance, and coordination support — not shipping or transport. You stay in control of all bookings and provider decisions. We make sure you know what to do, when, and how.

Is the DIY Travel Plan a subscription?

No. The DIY Pet Travel Plan is a one-time payment of $147 per pet, per trip. You get immediate access to your personalized Journey Guide, Pawsport, document vault, and resource map — with no recurring charges.

Do you guarantee my pet will be approved for travel?

We cannot guarantee outcomes that depend on third parties (airlines, governments, veterinarians). What we do guarantee is that your plan will be accurate, thorough, and based on current regulations — giving you the best possible preparation for a smooth journey.

Pricing, Refunds & Access

Can I get a refund?

If there is an error in your personalised travel plan that is within our control, we will fix it at no cost. Because the Journey Guide is generated specifically for your pet and route, we do not offer general refunds once it has been delivered. If you have concerns, email info@pawsabroad.co and we’ll work with you.

How quickly will I receive my Journey Guide after purchase?

Your Journey Guide is generated based on your pet’s Pawsport profile and route details. Once your Pawsport is complete, your guide is typically available within minutes. For complex multi-country routes, it may take slightly longer.

What happens if airline policies change after I purchase my plan?

Airline pet policies change periodically. We monitor major policy updates and notify affected users when significant changes occur. Your Journey Guide reflects the most current information available at the time of generation.

Common Concerns

Is this really necessary? Can’t I just research it myself?

You can — and many people try. But international pet travel involves navigating airline-specific pet policies, country-specific veterinary and import requirements, document timing windows, and transit rules that change frequently. Most people spend weeks piecing this together from forums, Facebook groups, and outdated blog posts. Paws Abroad organizes all of this into one clear, route-specific plan so you don’t miss anything critical.

What if my travel plans change after I purchase?

Life happens. If your dates or route change, you can update your Pawsport and generate a revised Journey Guide. Major route changes may require a new plan purchase, but your Pawsport and document vault carry over.

How do I know the information in my plan is accurate and up to date?

Our team monitors airline pet policies, country import regulations, and veterinary requirements on an ongoing basis. Your Journey Guide is generated using the most current data we have. If something changes after your plan is created, we’ll notify you of significant updates.

Is $147 worth it compared to just figuring it out for free?

Consider the cost of getting it wrong — a missed vet appointment, an expired health certificate, or a denied boarding can cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars, not to mention the stress. The DIY Travel Plan gives you the kind of structured, route-specific clarity that most people only get from expensive pet relocation services.
